Exported to India and Pakistan
Despite the longstanding preference for local cement sheets in India, DuraRoof has gained prominence due to its exceptional global standards. Its acceptance extends to Pakistan.
Why Anwar
Bangladesh faces hotter days, heavier rain, stronger storms and seasonal cold. Anwar Cement Sheet is made for exactly that weather, and backed by the country’s largest building-materials group.
The company
Anwar Cement Sheet Ltd. (ACSL) is the fibre cement roofing concern of Anwar Group of Industries, one of Bangladesh’s oldest business houses.
ACSL was incorporated in 2013 and runs a single production line built on German technology, described by the company as the largest of its kind in the world. Around 1,250 people work across manufacturing, quality control, distribution and dealer support.
The plant manufactures to ISO-393:1964 and BDS 1046:1983 and is approved by the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI). Every sheet is a 6-layered fibre cement product, 4 mm thick, in lengths from 2 to 10 RFT, in natural grey or factory-coloured red, blue and green.
ACSL sits inside the group's Building Materials Division alongside Anwar Cement, Duraroof, Anwar Galvanizing, Anwar Ispat and A1 Polymer, so the roof, the structure beneath it and the fixings can all come from one trusted source.
Weather readiness
The roof has become part of a family's comfort plan and a farm's productivity plan. Here is how a fibre cement roof behaves in each season.
Weather readiness
Fibre cement roofing designed for everyday heat, rain and humidity.
German-technology single line for consistent sheet quality, every batch.
Guidance on slope, overlap, fixing and accessories through the dealer network.
10 years of guarantee, based on approved terms and correct installation.

BUET test certification
I am glad to see Anwar Group introducing DuraRoof in Bangladesh; indeed a long awaited solution to all the perils of conventional steel based roofing materials. Test results from BUET of DuraRoof were impressive to me.
DuraRoof holds the capacity to withstand very high temperatures as the test results show. In addition, its anti-rusting elements make it an appropriate roofing solution for all industrial usage. The confidence of the promoters in the products also resounded in the offering of 50 years rust-free guarantee.

Production
DuraRoof is manufactured in two state of the art plants of 500 TPD capacity each, equipped with imported machinery using Italian technology.
| Machine | Test |
|---|---|
| Micro Oven | Moisture and density |
| Mapple Furness | LOI, SO3, IR etc. |
| LBC Test Machine | Load bearing capacity |
| SSA Tester | Fineness of cement |
| Buoyance Tester | Fibre opening |
| Vicat Apparatus | Cement setting time |

A smart roofing partnership with Bangladesh Auto Industries Ltd., supplying roofing sheet for its factory sheds.
Anwar Group
DuraRoof is believed to be yet another revolutionary product. It is anti-corrosive, anti-rusting, fire resistant and an excellent heat insulator. It not only outlives the conventional steel roofing by up to five times, but also induces higher efficiency and productivity by improving temperature and humidity control inside the plants.
Beyond Bangladesh, DuraRoof is also exported to India and Pakistan. By 2026, DuraRoof hopes to be able to export to at least 12 different countries.

Sustainability
How cement sheet roofing supports cooler factories, green building certification and the Sustainable Development Goals.
Bangladesh is at high risk for extreme heat hazards, and the risk is rising. Air conditioning run on fossil fuel creates a vicious circle: more cooling, more emissions, a warmer climate. Cement sheet roofing is a passive, long-term cooling system for factories.

By incorporating cement sheets into building designs, companies can achieve several LEED certification criteria more efficiently.
Anwar Group of Industries, a 190 years old family owned conglomerate, has practised public philanthropy since before its inception in 1834.
